Enoch P. Hicks

Attorney and Owner, The Law Office of Enoch P. Hicks, LLC

Enoch is a Marietta-based attorney with substantial litigation experience in Georgia state and federal courts.

He represents businesses and individuals in business litigation, outside general counsel matters, DUI defense, and select personal injury cases.

Before opening his firm, Enoch litigated complex securities class actions and shareholder derivative cases in courts across the country. He also represented State of Georgia departments and agencies while serving in the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, prosecuted criminal cases, and worked within the judicial system as a staff attorney to the Cobb County Superior Court.

This experience provides clients with a broader perspective on their matters. Enoch is able to evaluate legal issues from multiple perspectives and anticipate how opposing counsel, prosecutors, insurers, and courts are likely to approach them.

Experience and Approach

Direct Advice and a Clear Plan

Enoch begins by identifying what the client is trying to accomplish. From there, he focuses on the facts, deadlines, legal issues, and pressure points most likely to affect the result.

Clients receive direct answers about the strengths and weaknesses of their position, the available options, and what each option is likely to require. When litigation is necessary, the work should advance a defined objective. When a practical resolution makes more sense, the client should understand why.

Clients work directly with Enoch throughout the matter.

Complex Litigation in Courts Across the Country

Before opening his firm, Enoch practiced with a boutique securities litigation firm in Marietta.

He represented institutional investors in securities class actions and shareholder derivative litigation filed in federal and state courts throughout the country. His work included substantial motion practice, complex discovery, depositions, high-volume document productions, and coordination of litigation teams.

He drafted and argued significant motions, including motions involving the heightened pleading requirements of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act and motions for summary judgment.

The work required close attention to complicated factual records, procedural strategy, expert issues, and the practical demands of large-scale litigation.

Defense of Georgia Government Entities

Enoch served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Torts Division of the Georgia Attorney General’s Office.

As lead counsel, he defended state agencies and other government entities in lawsuits brought under the Georgia Tort Claims Act. His responsibilities included evaluating claims, developing litigation strategy, handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, briefing legal issues, negotiating resolutions, and preparing cases for trial.

That experience gave him an inside view of how institutional defendants, government agencies, insurers, and defense counsel evaluate liability, damages, settlement, and litigation risk.

Criminal Prosecution and Jury Trials

Before joining the Attorney General’s Office, Enoch served as an Assistant Solicitor General in Douglas County.

He prosecuted criminal cases and served as lead counsel in multiple jury trials.

His prosecution experience informs his current DUI practice. He understands how prosecutors review police reports, video, witness testimony, field sobriety evidence, chemical testing, prior history, and mitigation when deciding how to handle a case.

Experience Inside Cobb County Superior Court

Enoch began his legal career as a staff attorney in Cobb County Superior Court.

He conducted legal research and prepared bench memoranda, proposed orders, jury charges, and other materials for the court in civil and criminal matters.

That work gave him practical experience with how judges analyze legal arguments, evaluate the record, manage litigation, and prepare matters for decision or trial.
